i am so fed up with college right now. my mother thinks im crazy community over 60 kms to college every day. sometimes i get two buses in the morning and two buses in the evening, and that takes me four hours, and sometimes i get a lift with a person who is in the same college which is like more than 65 kms from my home as i already said just there

i am soooo exhausted all the time and constantly behind in my course work. its totally unsustainable, but i just feel that because i put all that hard work in in first year, that i should somehow keep going. i dont know what else i would do really if i had to give it up and just keep working away in my part time job.

my boyfriend goes to college too, close to my college, and i get to see him too, because i call into him on the way home. i dont think i would see as much of him if i gave up college.

i have fallen behind a number of times with my coursework but the tutors have been very patient with me, and have helped me a lot. well they should anyway because im paying 1500 to 2000 at the start of every year to be there.

i will be an absolute wreck if i continue to commute like this.

oh. i dont know WHAT to do. i am so tired.

If I was in your position I would move closer to the college, of course depending on your financial situation and the possibility of a part time job within the vicinity of the college.
You could be spending the time that you are travelling working and it would make your college life somewhat easier I would imagine.

tbh i agree with the above posts you should try move closer to college

i know how tough commuting is i did it for a while in first year and it does save you money.....but is it really worth the four hour commute? even your mum agrees that it is a crazy idea maybe you could work out a way for her to help aid you financially that you could pay back??

If you do decide to keep commuting please bear in mind that your boyfriend lives close to your college...if needs be stay with him one night or stay with some friends just give yourself a break from the constant travel!

    chin up OP :)

The obvious solution is to move closer to college. Is there any reason why you decided not to in the first place? The problem is that now that you are struggling with your course work, you're running the risk of failing and that would mean that the money that you or your parents have spent on will be money down the drain.

I know this is going to sound really unsympathetic and harsh, but sheesh, some people just seem to make their own problems. OP - its easily solved. Leave home, take responsibility for your life and move closer to the college. Am I being too harsh to point out that plenty of people commute this distance to work each day and manage to put in a hard day's work without becoming "sooo exhausted"?
