recording from freesat more than one week ahead

I've just got the Humax Foxsat HDR and very happy with it.

Am I correct in saying there is no way of timing recordings for more than the one week ahead the EPG allows for? i.e. it won't let you type in a time and date and select which channel to switch to at that time? And if not why not - surely it would be a combination of reminder function to switch channel combined with date entry?

Is the only option to get another recorder that allows 30 day timers and set reminders on the Humax?

    thanks.

People got lazy and demanded epg one touch recording, so the traditional way of setting timers and a channel number has fallen away.
It was just so much hard work, having to push more than one button.
Planning ahead like this was available in the eighties with VHS, but "progress" has done away with that sort of thing.
It's just a sign of the times.
I hope you find what you want.

Press 'Schedule' on your remote. Press Yellow to enter 'Edit' menu. It then lets you set a record reservation with a start time, end time, and to record daily, weekly, weekday, series or once. Seems to let me pick any date all the way up to the end of the year.

Hope that's what you're looking for.

That would appear to be it! They don't make it that obvious in the manual! thanks.
