Strong field this week in Riviera.
Have to fancy Mickelson doing well this week, he seems to do well here.
Harrington again is off to another strong start, currently -3 after 16 and 1 off the lead. Seems familiar?

Solid from Paddy once again so far. Lets just hope the tournament ends tomorrow before the weekend cause he might get in the top 10 then :D

My fancy would be Luke Donald. Even though its his first event of the year his game is well suited to this course and finished 2nd there last year.

I have backed Padraig again this week (at 55/1). Unfortunately I can't get down to LA to watch this week, but if Padraig is still in contention going into Sunday, and I am in for a nice pay day, I might take an early morning flight on Sunday ...

Just watching this on Sky and the golf channel feed are giving the Kim, Watson and Couples group alot of airtime. Anyone else think that Anthony Kim is swaggering around like he owns the fcuking place. He's coming across as a cocky prick, maybe trying too hard to impress the Presidents Cup Captain?

Well Kim definitly has no reason to be cocky about his game anymore. He is playing rubbish since his thumb surgery last year. Dont think Freddy will be too impressed with 3 over through 7 :D

Once again the americans have set a standard for golf coverage.
Stopped the coverage after Mickelson stuck his second shot on his 10th to a few feet.
Why didnt they show the late groups back nine instead of the front?

Bubba watson has withdrawn after a 76. He was "miked up" and the golf channel were trying to eaves drop as he walked between shot's. Showing other golfers would have been better viewing.

Typical....first golfer i had a bet on in months:(
i thought 40/1 was too good to be true!

Speaking of Kim.... he could a legendary bad bounce yesterday... ball hit concrete kerb, took off and ended up under a table.

    karma's a bitch eh?

heres a link to reporter stephenie wie's break down of the "bad break".

    http://www.weiunderpar.com/post/anthony-kims-version-of-pinball-wizard-costs-him-two-shots

which leads me to ask the question... wtf are there concrete paths doing on a pga tour event golf course?

That was a good bet but Bubba should have taken a week or two off after he won in San Diego. Winning takes a lot out of a player and i think it has shown in Bubba since his win

There are concrete paths on pretty much every course PGA tour events are played on. They're for, you know, buggies and stuff

bad break. What is wrong with a terrible shot. Makes it out that the crowd should have stopped the ball

Early play see's Fred couples -4 after 10 and -7 in total.

Fred is 51 and playing as a past winner. He is taking medication for back pain as he is showing the younger guy's how it done.

P Casey -4 while playing partner L Donald is +4.

Harrington out at 8:30pm irish time.

Watching him via shot tracker...wife thinks i'm bonkers!!!

Good start by Harrington...birdie first hole!! -4

    A Boy Paddy. Great start.

F*ckin hell Lads, I thought I was in for an evening of watching Harrington playing a decent round here - these idiots haven't even shown him once! Three Majors don't count for much in the US, I suppose

they,d rather show dustin johnson bogey every hole than show a european

Frustrating. He's right up there and all we get to see is that big useless oaf 3 putting and gobbing all over the greens. Even the lads on Sky are giving out about it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 462 ✭✭Suspiria79

    Paddy holing some crackers!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,886 ✭✭✭WHIP IT!

DA Points was SIX-over-par & they showed every shot he took... Pathetic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,082 ✭✭✭bigtimecharlie

Glad I wasn't depending on Sky (golf channel) last night to see Paddy.

He finished level par for round 2 and remains at -3 overall. A double bogey at 13 took the shine of the card. He needs a decent 3rd round unlike last week.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 92 ✭✭Parky2010

Yep went out of bounds on the 13th, took 6. Other than that seems to be driving the ball well, only 5 back going into the weekend not too bad

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Paddy off to a birdie start so he is up to 4 under although everyone birdies that first hole.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,431 ✭✭✭dvemail

Harringtons swings looks a lot nicer and more controlled. His putting routine still makes me laugh though. But if it works, why stop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,566 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

Harrington going backwards this weekend again. Just doubled 12 to go back to -1 for the tourney. Seems to be missing a lot of makeable putts today.

It's the woeful driving thats killing him as usual, two poor drives left him with no second shot on two of the holes and led to a bogey and double bogey.

Eagle, birdie, birdie (-4) for the first hole this week but it's the double bogeys that are hurting his card. Havn't seen any coverage of him this week but results speak for themselves.

Everyone is scoring well on the first though. 43% driving accuracy isn't near good enough and is what is causing his poor scoring

Yep he's missed nearly everything right today going by shot tracker.

Couples is such a natural golfer, just swings it so beautifully. Love seeing him still in contention in big tournaments on the main tour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,082 ✭✭✭bigtimecharlie

Harrington +5 after 16th for today, +2 for the tourney. Depressing.....

A birdie on the last for a 4 over 75.

Ogilvy will loose no sleep thinking about next Wednesday.

Won't be playing ogilvy now, someone pulled out. Although I know what you mean very poor on the weekend again by Paddy. Oh well chance to rectify it tomorrow.....

The lad that pulled out was the 64th seed i think, so it will only be Westwoods match that changes, he will now play Stenson.

    Freddie riding the wave

ffs usa. no coverage for 30 mins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Paddy is back to 1 over again  Freddy still ahead by 1 from Baddeley

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 36,634 ✭✭✭✭Ruu_Old

Made a bags out of the par 5 1st hole. +2 now. Couples still leading at -12 from Baddeley at -11, Vijay Singh at -10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Paddy bogeys another par 5  and its the easiest they will probably play all year. Its like a 3 wood 6 iron and he takes a 6.....he is some disaster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Fredy starting to slip. Double Bogey on 7 and is now 3 behind. Paddy 3 over through 12

  • Subscribers Posts: 4,419 ✭✭✭PhilipMarlowe

    Duval -4 today thru 12, t14 on -6

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Harrington finishes at 2 over par after a 1 over 72 on sunday for T55. Really needs to sort out his weekend play.

Tournament starting to get interesting. Greens look unbelievably fast a tricky.
Double Bogey by Baddeley on 12 to have a 2 shot lead with 3 players tied at 9 under including Freddy.
