I've a few road bikes on the go also MTB's, how tall are you and what's your budget for a bike? I've this one listed http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056177704
if it's the right size but too expensive I could swap the drive train and wheels to bring it down to budget, it's a 54cm with 4 spacers on the stem so good for 5'7"-6'1" at a guess.
For Kit try wiggle/chain reaction cycles/winstanleys and ebay sometimes the gear in aldi is good especially the shorts.
    Enjoy

Doubt you need a 60cm, I'm 6'4 and use a 58 - 60 depending on frame. Its more dependant on you inside leg lenght, but at a guess you'd be a 56-58, again depending on the bike as they can differ. Before you buy you need to be sure it fits correctly.
