    Pod Presents:

    Transmission: Brodinski & Mixhell

Tripod, Saturday 5th March. Doors 11pm
    Tickets €17.50 from Ticketmaster Outlets

The third instalment of the Transmission at Tripod paries see us pair up Brazil’s Mixhell and France’s Brodinski for a scintillating double header.

For Louis Brodinski, music is a full time job, when he’s not playing out in clubs around the world the young man from Reims in France spends all his spare time digging – digging for more tunes, secret weapons, future classics, and new inspirations… although he’s quick to point out this is not a complaint, stating firmly ‘this is the best job in the world’.
Like many of his generation the now waning MySpace helped Brodinski to receive his initial brake. “One important turning point came when Pedro Winter (Ed Banger-head honcho and one-time Daft Punk-manager) gave two of my tracks to Stephen and David Dewaele from Soulwax. They were impressed, and eventually invited me to the very first edition of SoulwaX-mas in their hometown Ghent. It was a dream come true!”

Surprisingly for an artist regarded so highly regarded he still remains a somewhat aloof character at least in regard to his recorded output, which has up to now remained relatively scant. Releasing just a handful of EPs, a few collaborations and a very well revived mix CD for the Bugged Out series; 'Suck My Deck'.
This CD is showcase for his DJ sets, inventive and unrelenting; encompassing noisy techno, bass heavy house through to more melodic techno tracks. His programming is impeccable and he DJs with such spirit as anyone who has witnessed him play as lanky 6'2' frame jerks and bounces about to each beat will attest.
This will be Brodinski’s first appearance in Dublin, we’ve spent nearly three years trying to make it happen and are greatly looking forward to seeing what the young Frenchman is capable of.

    Mixhell
The second part of our line-up has some rather unexpected origins. The name Iggor Cavalera may already be familiar to some fans of death metal as his previous appointment was as the percussive backbone of Brazil's Sepultura, Carrying out drumming duties from 1984 to 2006, in the process touring the world several times over, selling tens of millions of albums in the process.
After leaving Sepultura, Cavalera began to seek out new projects and a fresh new outlook, whilst looking to retain the passion and energy that he put into his time with Sepultura. After much soul searching Cavalera decided to focus his attentions firmly on the dancefloor.

In 2009 Cavalera along with his wife Laima Leyton remerged as under the new moniker of Mixhell, now as familiar with turntables and MPCs and he ever was with the death metal oeuvre. This new and exciting collaboration aimed to fuse together the best and heaviest of the percussive metal and electronic scenes, combining dancefloor and hard rock sensibilities.

Mixhell are set to be every bit as as explosive as Cavalera's musical career to date and combined with the presence of Brodinski there’s a serious amount of beat based entertainment on offer.
