Sorry about the picture it's not great but my wife is driving a 04 Cooper. The black plastic trim on the A pillar as circled (badly) above is damaged and a piece has fallen off. I don't know how this happened but does anone know if this is easy to fix? Any idea of a cost on the replacement part?

    Thanks in advance.

Most of the time when this bit comes off, it's as a result of a crappy windscreen installer bodging the job. They're about 25 Euro new, and easy to fit. 1 screw, 4 push clips.

Yeah the windscreen was replaced a long time ago but I never linked the two. I'll have a look later and see if I'm willing to give it a go.

Thanks a million for the prompt and informative reply.

No problem, if you have any issues installing - ask on the MINI Club of Ireland forum at http://miniclub.ie, a few of us have had to do this several times down through the years.

that's my experience too. When we lost that panel, the foam underneath went with it, not sure if this automatically comes with the new plastic panel.

If it's on the driver side do it sooner rather than later, the Body Control module is in the drivers footwell under that panel I think. I've heard crocked A-panels trims can leak a bit onto it. It should be protected from moisture in 03 onwards cars but better safe than sorry.
