ring and ask - although i'm sure ticketmaster have a voice machine phone service so you probably won't get to speak to anyone. drop by and ask them in cork.

    It's on a Monday :(

Like your username by the way - Generation Terrorists was their best album - "Condemned to Rock & Roll" their best song.

Is this expected to sell out quickly? I could risk going to the box office but would buy them online if they are not going to be all sold ten seconds after I log in to ticketb*****d.

upper circle = unreserved seating high up - not a great view from anywhere other than the first few rows
    ground floor = standing

the upper circle tickets should still be on sale on the day of the gig. keep an eye on toutless.com for standing tickets.

    This day week :D

Anyone know where they're likely to stay/be?

James is a massive Forest fan and they're playing Swansea in the play offs the same night, would love to get him out for a pint or 2 for the match before the gig

It could easily have been Cardiff that they met . . . hmm, interesting thread here.

So anyone know of places in Dublin that they've drank over the years? :D They were meant to have been in Isobar in Cork back in '99.

James was on Soccer Am last month bigging up the Tricky Trees :D

If we knew where they were staying we could crash the hotel bar!

Try the Merrion Hotel - a friend of mine saw Nicky come out or go into there last time they were here to play Oxygen.

I'm heading myself and can't wait as a huge Manics fan and in my opinion one of the greatest bands of all time. I've seen them live 5/6times now always great live never been let down once!! Standing tonight too excellent!

Get of the couches, turn the Telly off and support some great live music!

Just realised I've not seen them in 3 years - the Ambassador gig. Crazy, I've seen them loads but missed the Plague tour.

ye goin too. support act any good?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,032 ✭✭✭homerun_homer

Hope you checked out the Joy Formidable- they are very good. Sound massive for a 3 piece.
Good greatest hits/classics set from the Manics.

Enjoyed hearing Stay Beautiful, Faster, Of Walking Abortion, Life Becoming a Landslide at it.

Anybody at this any trouble getting in and around dame st last night? Heading to olympia on wed night but driving down from dundalk and freaking out about getting anywhere near the place and finding a place to park!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,032 ✭✭✭homerun_homer

Streets weren't closed off last night like they were today. Restrictions ease from 5/6pm so you might get around ok butstill might be tough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,113 ✭✭✭lukin

I enjoyed the support act Joy Formidable (that leads singer is smokin hot!).
Was a bit disappointed the manics didn't play any songs off Journal for Plague Lovers (I am pretty sure they didn't anyway) as I thought that was a really great album.

Really enjoyed the gig. Got the setlist. Couln't believe some of the older tunes played...you expect some of them like You Love Us, Motorcycle Emptiness and Motown Junk but to come right off the bat with Stay Beautiful and also play Suicide is Painless, Of Walking Abortion and Lie becoming a Landslide...fantastic gig. And the support were excellent too. I can't say enough good things!! Loved it!!

Fantastic gig! Been a year or 2 since seen them last and they pulled out some tunes I've never heard them play live great to see them in great spirits and having some banter too. Pity they are playing Oxegen and not EP!

I tend to see them more at their own gigs rather than the festivals cos I just think they know they can get away with more at their own gigs as in playing tunes like 'Of Walking Abortion' or 'Life Becoming A Landslide'.

In the nosebleeds but I'd always take those tickets for the Manics,A quality live band. The journal gig the last time they played over here was the best gig I've ever been to.

Enjoyed the joy formidable too,I could be mistaken but pretty sure I seen/heard double bass pedals from the drummer on two climatic outros in songs, impressed me as a metaldrums nerd:oAdd to that a fine lookin frontwoman with great chops on guitar and vox(and she had some cool pedal loop effects going on)and I was sold. Will be checking out some of their shtuff.

Have to say underwhelmed by the Joy Formidable. Relied way too much on effects rather than guile or craft.
