Data Protection Act

Hi all, a facility I use has recently put in place a screen which displays, in large font, the full name and photo of the person accessing the facility. The screen is in a foyer which is open to the general public. I feel very uncomfortable having my personal data on public display. Is this a violation of the Data Protection Act?

It depends on the nature of the facility. If it is somewhere public then the answer is more than likely yes.
