Ned O'Keeffe says army coup a 'real possibility' in Ireland, Haughey greatest leader!

THE situation has become so bad that an Army coup is a real possibility.”
It seems the Middle East is not the only part of the world under threat from political instability — Ireland is also, according to retiring Fianna Fáil TD Ned O’Keeffe.
The Cork East TD said that military intervention in the form of a coup d’etat could be on the cards because of the mess An Taoiseach Brian Cowen and Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan had left the country in.
“Our political system is going to fail further. The two Brians have made a right mess of the country and I see the real possibility of an Army coup.
“People thought I was mad with all the things I have predicted through the years, but I foresaw the economy collapsing due to lax regulation on building housing estates and unwanted shopping centres.”
He claimed Charlie Haughey would be turning in his grave if he saw what Ireland had become.
“So what if Charlie liked nice women and a few extra nice shirts? He was the best leader we ever had.”

    words. fail.

Well done Ned! i can see the tide turning for Fianna Fail after this you crazy bollox!!

I wish it would happen, it would wipe the smile from some of those toff politicians that think their above the human race. A Coup doesn't necessary mean violence and I'm sure the IDF have discussed this option. Maybe even let a general stand in the election they would have more chance of getting my vote than the current clowns.

    What a gobshyte.

And its rare i make such a comment about someone on this forum or any other forum, but if he made those comments about it being a "real posibility" hes a gormless gobshyte

Ned O'Keefe perfectly defines the gombeenism that exists within Irish politics. I remember reading a story about him a few years ago in which he was approached by a woman about improving the school her children attended and his reply was something along the lines of 'there's no FF voters in that village'.

    Of course they have.

This is the man ( a noted pig farmer) who wanted to ban the film "Babe" because he feared the effect on sales of sausages.

He is not firing with all spark plugs and can I think be safely ignored.

Isn't it just so big of Ned O'Keeffe to come out firing guns against these guys like he wasn't part of the machine that caused the grief we're all suffering through, and will suffer for many years to come. Stupid cúnt. Don't they see they are all part of the problem. Not just a little corner of the party way off over there. YOU ALL CAUSED THIS YOU FÚCKING IGNORANT KNOB.

Maybe the Army could lift the censorship we are under by the state broadcaster.

Why isn't this story on RTE-FF's website

This is a typical AH response, not getting at you skelliser.

People will moan and groan about everything yet when the time comes, and anyone suggests something that requires effort, or is a bit radical you get the usual moans and groans and everyone complains from the comfort of armchairs.

Ned is right, Charlie Haughey was one of our best taoiseachs(sp) in some respects, it was him that dragged Ireland by the scruff into the 20th century and changed us from a country that exported mainly agricultural to one that has a rich export portfolio. Yes Haughey was a crook, but he did a lot of good for the country too. Look and the awful eejits that we have left to vote for now, it's depressing. Not one statesman with the charisma to rebuild Irelands reputation, not as much as one good idea as to how we can get the country back on it's feet between the lot of them. They're a bunch of tossers.

The two Brians did make a complete and utter fùck up of the country and teflon Bertie was there all the way too. We need a military coup alright, but there's feck all chance of that happening.

you need to read up on your history my friend!!
Sean Lemas is the answer your looking for.

Before spouting ****e about stuff you know nothing about read up on said stuff!

And if you had any insight you would notice that this rubbish is just scare mongering to persuade people to vote FF.

Think you've got the corrupt Haughey confused with Lemass, here. And don't say it was the corrpt Haughey who came up with the IFSC. It was Dermot Desmond who first proposed the idea.

Also the corrupt Haughey is responsible for the 'Cult of Personality' leadership that has us fcked. Ahern learned well from his master.

This revisionism of the corrupt Haughey is sickening.

Both of these stories are true. He was TD in my constituency until his retirement at this election.

He also said recently that the Chinese wanted to establish a military base in Ireland:

The PDF dont have enough members to consider a coup but back in the 70s and 80s with 15,000 full time IDF and about the same FCA , they might have had some chance :p

Of course if they were to conscript or join forces with .......ya know

Yep, both nail on the head. Clearly he's as mad as a march hare, but think about how many utter moronic fcukwits it took to drag their knuckles across the paper and leave an X beside his name. That is the scary part.

I have actually met quite a few morons like that. Quite literally slightly retarded individuals but with the same vote as someone who didn't dribble excessively.

    An army coup in Ireland?

    What?

The army in Ireland is nowhere near large enough to stage a coup and there's no need to stage a coup anyway with elections imminent.

The Irish army in a military coup!!! Holy s**t, has everyone gone mad, can you imagine it!!!
A bunch of pretenders trying to run the country, oh wait a moment, thats what we have now!!!

Ya know I dont live in Ireland now but I have being following all the events back home and I'm glad I dont have the vote because I really and truly wouldn't have any faith in any those individuals or partys , especially FF so that gets me of the hook . But as the man said ,even if 99% of the population dont vote ,your still going to end up with some sort of goverment and what's down the road for the future of the country I dont know but I just hope it's rosey .

Bertie was always a bluffer and corrupt, and didn't need any training from Charlie. Charlie once said about Bertie.. he's "the most cunning and the most devious of them all".

One thing I am pretty certain of, if Haughey was Taoiseach then the IMF wouldn't be here. He wouldn't have bankrupt the country, and that's for sure.
