    how long show a battery on a laptop last after its been charged. i'm getting about an hour and a haf

    It depends on what programs you are using and how old the battery is.
    My new laptop last about 2 and half hours on a fully charged battery but that's just browsing the web. Anything more intensive and it will be less.

    in linux you can use the acip -i -b command

    Battery 0: Full, 100%
    Battery 0: design capacity 4800 mAh, last full capacity 4656 mAh = 97%

    i.e. my battery can still store 97% of it's design capacity.

    it says 2hours 35 left, but that will depend on brightness, if I power save the screen / harddrive / wifi / camera / bluetooth etc. - can add up to 30-50% longer if you go for it aggressively and ease back on which apps you run too


    also depends on what how big a battery you have , some laptops can take 3/6/9 cell batteries - the 9 cell would last 3 times as long as the 3 cell ones


    check the manual to see what it says it should last
    or you could give us a clue as to which laptop/battery you have
