I've a few different types of blush that I rotate between depending on the rest of my make up.

Posie tint by Benefit (which is duped by another company and sold in Superdrug) is lovely during summer. I generally wearing lighter foundation and don't really powder, preferring the 'dewy' look in summer and I find posie tint perfect and it doesn't cake. Its a light pink in the bottle but comes out on my skin as a medium tone. It's got quite cool undertones so works great on Irish skin.

For powder blush I wear Benefit Coralista (doesn't everyone? :pac:) and it gives my skin a lift definitely. Its pink/coral and I can never make up my mind if it's warm or cool toned. Looks better on me when I have heavier night out make up on. Coverage is excellent, very little product required to get a good payoff. Only got it there before Christmas so haven't tried it in summer. I reckon it'll be nice though, brights always work well in summer and I tend to wear more colourful eyeshadows and liners during the summer, I think this would look amazing with green/blue eyeshadows/liners. There's a bit of a sheen to it too so it's almost like a highligher and blush in one.

On the cheaper scale of things my go-to blush for years was pink-cloud by Natural Collection at Boots. Soft pink, rosie, very natural. Coverage was good and it look great on my skin when it was paler and slightly more tanned during the summer months. Only downside was that I don't think I've ever had one that didn't shatter during the first couple of weeks, it ruined my make up bag SO many times.

Before I came back to France I also picked up an Essence blush which has surprised me no end. Its very similar to Coralista (obviously without the same coverage/long lasting ability) and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. Downside (and for me this is a major downside) it has glitter in it. Not massive chunks or anything but noticeable enough for me to care and after a while I'd find glitter all over my face.

Oh, and No. 7 do a REALLY bright pink blush. It looks like highlighter pink in the packaging but it doesn't come out as bright on skin. It's still really really bright though. I'd have bought it again if I had a no. 7 voucher thing for boots but I find them waaaaay over priced to pay full whack.

I've used coralista, I use it more as a shimmer over blush then a colour, because I need quite a lot on my cheeks!
Want to try posie tint but it seems so pale as well, and benetint seems so bright, I might buy some of the dupes and try them out, invest benefit when I know that kind of product suits me :O

Wouldn't mind a new creme blush for spring, something with a coral undertone!

Benefit Dandelion is lovely, have used mine for ages and it always looks well against my skin tone(which is very pale btw) during the winter or summer.

Dior used to do lovely little blush pots, loose powder in a pot witha puff on top-perfect colour and coverage and lasted for hours, but they seem to have discontinued them :( Diorskin Shimmering allover face powder in Rose Diamond is lovely for nights out, but can be a bit ott for daytime wear due to the shimmer and shine. Very flattering though.

I used Benetint for years, only stopped using it because i'm such a magpie when it comes to makeup, but it really is great. As i said, i'm extremely fair, and its never looked too strong on me. Just blend blend blend!

I actually need to go buy a new blusher, i was using a Too Faced blush but again, it seems to have been discontinued, and nowhere stocks it around here. I wonder how many Boots points i have?!! :p

I love Coralista by Benefit, as already mentioned and Orgasm by NARS.

17 do a super bright pink blush too, check it out next time you're in Boots, I find a lot of the 17 products are just cheaper versions of the No. 7 products. There's definitely one blush that I have from both brands and the two are exactly the same.

Love Benefits coralista too, for a cheaper more everyday blush though I like to use a pink rimmel eye shadow. I havent seen it on the shelf in awhile so i hope it hasnt been discontinued. Its bright pink, similar to coralista without the shimmer, :)

My absolute favourite is Orgasm by NARS, it's a bit shimmery but still natural (:p)
Another really good one is the the little round pot blushes by Bourjois. Rose D'or is not dissimilar to Orgasm and Lune D'or is a bit more muted.
If your looking for a cream blush, MAC's Ladyblush is good.

That Tickled Pink by ELF mentioned above is really great. I have about a 50% hit rate with ELF products, have got some crap as well but that's a really nice blusher.

I have a dupe of NARS Orgasm by Milani that's nice but allegedly they changed the formulation so it's not quite as good now.

Mostly I use MAC Well Dressed for everyday, have a few MAC and a couple of NARS.

Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick in "Rose" is fantastic - not cheap, but lasts a LONG time and, as the lady at the counter showed me, you can use the individual colours as eyeshadows as well. Subtle but brightens up ashen winter skin, and gives a lovely rosey glow. Always get compliments on it when I use it!

I use Peachykeen from Mac. It's a peachy pink. I use this handy cheek brush from Prescriptives to apply it.

That's the oddest thing I've seen all week!

I've the ELF blush in candid coral and it was so disappointing, I hada work to get the colour and it was just meh in the end. I think the benefit blushers don't have the right depth/shimmer ratio for my cheeks, I have such massive cheeks that if i don't colour em properly I look odd!

Keep the recommendations coming though, it's good to know what blushes other people are liking!!

I've heard that Orgasm by Nars is an amazing blush, people are raving about it all the time! I have no idea if you can get it in Ireland though? I haven't seen Nars anywhere here, I'd love to try it though.
Mac do a really lovely cream blusher as well, loads of nice colours to choose from, it applies really nicely!

I actually bought mine in New York, but I just checked the NARS website and the only place in Ireland you can buy their brand is in Brown Thomas on Grafton Street.

They're changing it now into a creme colour base or something :( have posey, it's okay.
    Anyone tried the new formula?

You can buy Nars make-up on the House of Fraser website. That's where I get it from ;)

Or wait there is also a Nars Euro website...not sure if they deliver here though!

For summer I'll definitely be wearing my MAC Fleur Power blush, it's a bright, yellow-toned pink. I also love cream blush for summertime, MAC's So Sweet, So Easy is a gorgeous one, though it may be limited edition. NYX also make fantastic cream blushes if you're willing to order online. I recommend the shade Boho Chic, it looks like a blush and highlight in one once applied to the face.

I've been wanting to try cream blush for a while, but after seeing some good reviews about maybelline 'mousse' blush i gave it a go.

I LOVE IT! it's a funny consistency and not what I'm used to but it's great for controlling the depth of colour and IMO looks like a flush. I got dolly pink, would recommend for a try. I just put it on with fingers!

Any recommendations for cream blush, not high end?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 361 ✭✭silverspoon

For a non-high end cream blush, I have to say I really like the Max Factor Miracle Touch in Soft Pink. It looks tiny and neon, but it comes out this lovely pop of colour, and I've had mine aaages and, while I don't wear it every day, I've worn it quite a bit and I've barely made a dent in it!

Topshop also have cream blushes, which I've heard good things about but never tried.

(My favourite 'cream blush' is actually a Barry M lipstick in 147 - I think that's the number, can't find it now! It's a matte peach lipstick, difficult to wear on lips because of the matte-ness but it's so gorgeous on the cheeks!)

Tempted to try this but my skin is VERY dry so prob isn't the right product for me!
Max factor have an interesting looking creme blush, but at the price it is I'd prefer to get another mac one!
