Treated all of my car windows with this about 2 months ago, Brilliant apart from the wipers giving a bit of judder going through town or at low speeds.
On the motorway it was superb..Just turn off the wipers,
    Anyhow
The front windscreen is now due to be done again as the effect has faded..
Do I just clean the screen and re-apply?
or should i strip all of the old coating off with something like Tardis and then clean the screen prior to a new applicatain??
    Cheers

I'd clay it before spraying Tardis on it!

I'd say the best results would come after removing left-over coating and starting fresh.

i'd just wash and dry the screen, cant see going over the old stuff doing any harm.

could see claying going wrong, depending on the clay you use.

nice to see im not alone in the wiper juddering department :pac:

not to hijack the thread but i've always wondered why i cant cover my whole car in, the beading is excellent

i think its how it bonds to the glass it wont work the same on a painted surface

Clean it off with some cheap Halfords Glass Cutter and start from fresh.

Where did you get that and how much was it?

I had a bottle of Auto Glym but IIRC it was fairly expensive.

I used this before and found it terrible.....yes it was amazing on the motorway however at speeds below 40mph the water beaded but you weren't going fast enough for the water to fly away and the wipers were rendered useless as they just glided over the film of Rain-X and didn't make contact with the actual glass. I would only ever use it on my side windows, mirrors and lights.

For juddering wipers, an occasional wipe of white vinegar across the rubber a few times usually cures it. I often find RainX to be a bit greasy after a few weeks so I switched to the 2 step Carlack system. I applied it in September and it's still beading strong without any judder.

I came across the Rain-X while on holiday in Jersey a few years back. Guy I was talking to worked in a boat yard and they used it on boats which did not have wipers!

Tried it for a while and then stopped (juddering wipers pi$%ed me off).

Might try that other product though.....
