I saw this thing in the flesh the other day. God its terribly ugly. IMO the design doesnt work at all. I was suspicious of how good it would look from the pictures Id seen but thought it would surely be impressive in reality. Unfortunately not!
First A8 of them all that I would not wish to own.

Does anybody like the look of it?

I hope that's just a bad pic/angle because that looks awful. It looks like a corolla for some reason!

    I love it. I love A8`S.

    Corolla?????

    That grille is an eyesore.

It's a bit of a dog compared to the original, alright. What is it with German cars that they're all trying to look so aggressive lately? Saw a Mercedes the other day with big exhausts on either side of the car and a little four-cyl up front, same thing with the new 520d, which sports tailpipes that look on the large (& glitzy) side for a big V8.

The new Audis definately seem to have taken a dip in the ugly pool, but they've definately got a long way to go to match the likes of Sanyong or the Fiat Multipla

-Corkie- IMO Corollas were never ugly, forgettable, definately but not ugly.

That pic pretty much represents what I saw at the dealer the other day. I was stunned tbh. The interior did look stunning and the large front brakes look pretty impressive but YUK.
The last A8 is still beautiful though.

All the Audi range looks the same now !!
At least you can tell the difference between a 1 series, 3 series and 5 series.. I find i really have to look hard to see the difference between a A4, A5, A6 etc

And those wheels are CAT on the A8:D

I dont think they are any more alike than any manufacturers range

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

More bland than ugly. Not very exciting to look at. I'm with Ricardo G on this one, A4, A6 and A8 all look the same now!

I much prefer the older A4 and A8, also much prefer the older 520 than the new one.

Really, really bland. I sat in one last week however and can confirm that the interior is quite nice.

In general though, there's no brand at present that leaves me colder than Audi.

Too much chrome. The front end is busy for busy's sake. All LED lights, Chrome strips and a big goatee grill. If I was a scumbag who won the lotto, this'd do nicely.

I'm not liking newer car designs (Is it a sign of getting older?). I don't like all new BMWs, but I love the e46 shape in the 3 series and think that was as good as they got it. I don't like new Audis, and I don't like the big enormous wheel arches they insist on putting on all Fords, the Juke, etc.

I think this pre-waterfall grille design A8 is the best combo of old school (ie like my S8) and nu-school:

    No frills just clean and c h u n k y.

agreed the bmw is much nicer but bmw have made some dogs lately too the one series x type, x1 for example

I wouldn't call the new A8 ugly, I would however call it bland with little or no presence. Until you get right up close, you could mistake it for an A4 or A7. I know all manufacturers have a corporate design across their model range but there is not enough distingtiveness between various models these days from certain manufacturers.

It's not great alright, but it's not ugly.
The A5 is ugly. I can't understand what people see in it. Big fat awkward shaped C-pillar.

You are prolly focusing too much on that one aspect, as an overall shape its nicely curved for a modern car:

Could do without the fake lower grills on the front though.

PS: Didnt think the images would be that size!

Nope, sorry... all I see is a waste of a nice V8.
