Ipad for backing tracks

Hi just wondering if anyone is using an ipad or similar tablet for playing backing tracks. I am looking for something like ipad for my father so he can play backing tracks easily while on stage. i tried laptop route but he couldnt manage. The ipod is to small for him. So if anyone has any suggestions please share.
