Hi Im on 2.3d Leedroid with a Desire and have an urge to get rid of the stuff that has come built on such as stocks, footprints, friend stream etc. I have gone into this program, ticked delete/uninstall and seemingly everything but to no avail as it appears they are gone and then re-appear when i re-boot or revert back to the home page and check my apps etc. Anyone shed any light on this for me please?

I have only just rooted my SE x10 mini-pro. Complete novice, but I used Titanium Backup and got rid of all the crap I didn't want on it, very, very easy to use once your phone is rooted.

Its free on the Market so no harm in giving that a go if you have no luck the way you are trying.

Saying that, anyone with more knowledge than me probably has an obvious/straight forward answer.

Is your Desire S-ON or S-OFF?
Its sounds like its S-ON which is a HTC security measure to prevent the system NAND from being altered when the OS is running.

Download the ISO and burn it to CD. Reboot your PC from your CD and follow the on-screen instrucions.
Should take around 5-10 minutes to do.

Your boot-screen will change afterwards but this can be changed again.

If you boot your phone into the FASTBOOT menu (by pressing volume down and power), it will tell you certain information about your phone.
    S-ON
    HBOOT 0.93

Its no different or difficult compared to rooting; its completely automated. The only difference is that it runs from a standalone CD rather than a downloaded program.
