Yeah, those damn needles can cut you if you don't thread carefully.

    This is American meddling,
Some meddling, some genuine protest. There is good independent coverage and comment at Juan Cole's Informed Comment
Iran is a nuclear country [...]
If you mean a country with a nuclear weapon, then that's wrong.

Iran has a nuclear enrichment programme that has been able to enrich some uranium to 20% (which is allowed under the NPT), which is enough for fuel and the creation of medical isotopes. This programme was disrupted by the StuxNet virus which was probably developed by major Western powers.

Iran is not a nuclear country.

There were 300 protest deaths in Egypt btw. There has also already been 1 reported death in the Iranian protest so far

I wouldn't take the Iranian Police as a reliable source, and we'll probably never find out the truth of the matter.

Yes, that is a fair point, the same thing happened in Egypt, where the regime tried to down play the deaths. Probably see the same thing in Iran, and in Bahrain as well.

Now Iranian MPs are openly calling for opposition leaders to be executed. WTF?

That's almost a national hobby over there with those people. Of course, I don't want to cast any aspersions...

Why shouldn't Iranians get some freedom? Just because the Iranian regime hates the US does not make them the good guys.

    No it doesn't.
But the problem is that USA - the world's super bully, along with Israel get up to dirty tricks against Iran.

It ends up making it all too easy for the iranian government to simply play the nationalist card and dismiss the protestors.

So the people of Iran should just put up with it?

They know what to expect, there were enough beatings after the elections to give them no illusions.

    Good luck to them.

The yanks would (and have) as soon install a dictator to rule with an iron but stable fist.

US blind support is always sh*t at history.

This is great to see to be honest.

People power is starting to flourish and it is only a matter of time before most of these brutal oppressive dictatorships are forced to end.

You're missing out the golden rule: The people with the guns make the rules. In both the cases of Egypt and Tunisia, the people with the guns decided not to get involved (Or in the Egyptian case, not openly). In Iran, there are plenty of armed government ideologues who are more than happy to get involved on the government side. You can see where it's going to go.
