In Dublin too - was playing Starcraft and all the lights on my router flashed and the game crashed. Thought it was just me. Had to restate pc. Could be a major outage :-/

Me too - as of about 0017 my UPC connection in Dublin 6 cannot connect, giving DHCP/Access Denied errors.

Ah, I thought it was just my router.

Windows told me it's a DNS problem.

Same here in Cork, UPC and O2 (prepaid) are down for me.
    At least I've Got a 3 billpay phone + USB cable + PC = internets :D

I'm seeing Status:Access Denied on my Cable modem. (You can check you're own status http:\\192.168.100.1 )
Their MAC auth servers might be down or it might have something to do with the 100Mb rollout. Here's hoping for 100Mb in Cork tomorrow :)

    EDIT:

Yay It's back. Their DNS doesnt seem to be working though. Using Google's openDNS IP 8.8.8.8 works fine :)

Some reports of O2 / IBB going down also... so perhaps it's not just UPC. I'm sure we'll find out tomorrow.

Glad I opted for the Desire and its instant hotspot...

Lost my connection in Limerick just after midnight, the girlfriend lost hers in Dublin at the same time. Both of us on UPC. Came back an hour later though.

Planning on switching to the 100mb UPC connection tomorrow. This outage doesn't phase me though. The amount of times that UPC's network has outages is miniscule, compared to other providers. I've been with UPC about 3 years now, and from a BB point of view, I've only experienced minor problems about 3/4 times.

I second that, Infact, my connection in the past 4 years has only gone about 3/4 times.

Also looking forward to the 100mb line, They are upgraded the lines in my estate at the moment. Should be done by may!!

Thats going to be a fun day!!

hey UPC DARREN whats going on ? did a meteorite hit upc ?

Went down for me as well, naturally when it happened I went ballistic, but in all fairness, it went down, they resolved it in just over an hour despite it being midnight. I rarely have an outage and when I do, I'm furious, once its back as long as it was quick, I don't mind because I know 100% uptime is not feasible

I was on skype with my nephew last night when both of our UPC connections went down, firefox froze, xfire and irc disconnected, yet the video call we were having wasn't affected. I'm curious as to how this was possible. I don't think a new call to another contact would have been possible, because the Skype icon was in the connect mode, but yet the call quality wasn't affected at all.
Not a complaint btw, UPC have been A1 since I changed.
