    Hi,

I am interested generally in all the current focus on 'Agrifood' and 'Love Irish Food' and how we should be buying more Irish food from what remains a country with temperate climate and ideal conditions for decent dairy and beef production ...

Yet, in common with everything else, 'Irish Food' although I would prefer to buy it regularly, is just so expensive (high overheads, utility costs, middle-man issues, nature of farming and subsidies) etc.,

However, I am doing a journalistic article and am seeking at least 3 farming/agrifood industries/organic-related - along the lines of that scrumptious Glenisk Yogurt or Cashel Blue cheeses.

I would like to do an article focusing on other 'Glenisks' etc - focused in Leinster/Greater Dublin - purely because I have a tight deadline!

Does anyone know of such food-based businesses that I could approach?

    Thanks in advance,
    OliveK:)

I know a guy doing a line in organic lamb burgers if you're interested I can contact him and see if he'd be interested. Taste tested them myself and they're very nom-nom-nom indeed :D

Oops, sorry, just seen you were looking for a specific geographical area.

Well if your looking the Organic angle why don't you ring the Organic organisations in Ireland asking them to recommend some of their poster boys? But you will get the usual such as Glenisk.

I could name a few farming/agriifood businesses that do limited organics and most is imported but they have developed their businsses from conventional produced Irish Produce to added value. If your interested PM me.

Thanks a million for the ideas below, Corsendonk- I recognize Country Crest!

Just the kind of angle I am looking for

I' not hung up on the whole organic thing as such, more interested in why it has to be so hard to get 'domestic' foodstuffs onto supermarket shelves amidst imported bread, milk, beef etc.,

Many of us grew up in 1970s, 1980s, for example, consuming 'home-produced' milk, bread, meat etc-

I'll send you the famous article when done!

    Thanks again,
    OliveK
