Hey guys, thought it would be good to set up a thread for bargain alerts on lunch foods the stores have on. Generally talking about stuff you put in the microwave and use a kettle for.

I'll kick it off. Knorr QuickSoup is 3 for 2 in Tesco so they're like 1.50 or so each with 3 or 4 satchets per box depeding on the type you buy so thats 9-12 satchets for about 3 euro.

Also in Tesco They are selling Ko-Lee instant noodles buy on get one free for 75c Each

Also there is buy one get the second half price in holland and barretts, I got 1kg of bombay mix for 4.50

Spar in Windmill Lane do pre packed ham & cheese sandwiches for €1.99 Same sandwich from the counter costs twice that!

    The trusty Tesco lunch deal..
Sambo drink and pack of taytos for €2.50! :D

Centra has a hot chicken fillet baguette and a can of coke for €3. (at least in longford anyway!)

I have to mention the €3.99 boots deal (normally cinema deal for me). Any drink and sandwich and any snack, I normally get A vitamin water with a triple sandwich, chicken and salad, chocken and stuffing, chicken and bacon and a big bag of malteesers in Liffey Valley. Boots Blanch have same deal but don't have any big bags of sweets so u have to settle for any packet of crisps or any bar:pac:

Dunnes do a similar deal but the crisps are their own brand gourmet ones - damn tasty.

I think that boots deal is €4?

Anyway if you making your own Sandwiches Superquinn is doing a good deal on Coleslaw, Egg Mayonaise and Potato Salad(All 250g). Any 2 for €3. Might not seem great but the coleslaw is really nice, much nicer than the Tesco own brand stuff which tastes like vinegar!? Also in Superquinn at the moment 250g Cheddar cheese and Ham(4 slices) €4.

I would recommend anyone who gets subway rolls every now and then to get the reward card. Its one of the better ones out there. You only need to get about 8 footlongs to get another free. They also have triple points for the first month you have the card and they regularly do promotions

The boots deal is €3.99, and they do a 10% student discount :pac:

Just sounds messy, ha. I wouldn't say I find it outrageous. Perhaps  was a little over dramatic. :)

Jaffa on the quays near the screen cinema, dublin city centre do a hot drink, sandwich (including triple decker) and crisps for a fiver. Great coffee and sandwiches!

Dunne's wholefood is 3 for 2 like all nuts and dried berries a nice snack to keep the hunger away during the day

Dunnes is quite good, Chicken Fillet roll for less than 3 quid.
Can't beat a Londis Deal of the week either, although it's awful rolls!

Have mentioned it before on here, mylunch.ie has a good few exclusive offers incl that GBK one that was mentioned here running all the time, plus a good few 2 for 1's. All of em here:
    http://www.mylunch.ie/dsp_offers.cfm/Ext/special
Mainly Dublin based, but it does say it's moving nationwide on the homepage.

I've started to bring in my own lunches, and it deffo does pay off, but starts getting a bit of a pain in the ass having to make a sambo every night.

Always use that Boots one aswell when I'm in the airport.
    Deadly.

Also Londis on Lower Baggot St (beside Larry Murphys) do any sandwich with 3 fillings for 3.50. You can get chicken fillet too, and Fresh on Camden St do any sambo, crisps and a drink for a fiver.

ALDI do a 600g Tomato and Basil soup for €1.39 which is terrifically tasty. Just saw today that they have prepacked sandwiches for €0.99, not tried one yet though.

Centra on Dame Street, just by the Philips Shop were and most likely still are doing a very tasty breakfast roll for €1.99. It has better quality ingredients than you'd find in a typical Centra/Spar shop.

Londis on Dame st. do €1.99 chicken fillet rolls and breakfast rolls and €5 for a freshly cooked 10' pizza or €7 for a 12'.
Also Fresh opposite the village/whelans do lovely noodles, €3.99 for a small or €4.99 for large, very filling and you can get chicken, duck, meatball, prawn and more. You can also get a can of 7up for 60c or a bottle of water for 75c (€1 for a litre)

Ugh that breakfast roll is awful imo! I'd much rather pay for a good un than be served up that! It's same as Londis on Grafton St, who almost measure out the amount of lettuce you can get in your Weekly Madness!

Hmnn it's been a few weeks since I bought one but I thought it was very tasty as the ingredients were of a much better quality than most Deli's. Each to their own I suppose.

Ohhh to add. Ciao Bella Roma's on Parliment Street have a strater, main course (pizza or pasta) and a glass of house wine for €8.90 from 12-5 or 6pm Monday to Friday. You won't be hungry afterwards if you go with the pizza.

+1 on the Dunnes Hot Food Counter stuff.. always get sausages on a baguette with ketchup on a weekend morning after a skinful..only €1.99..and if you ask them to use cocktail sausages they really pack the roll..very tasty and fills ya up till dinner time..a lot better value than these €3.50-€4 breakfast rolls:)

Spar on Nassau Street do a great Lunch deal for only a Fiver!

You get any sambo or roll from the deli up to €4.00, which at best gets you a chicken fillet(proper size plain or spicy), cheese and any 3 other filling, and they aren't mean either!

Then you get to choose ANY 3 of the following; drink, crisps, choc bar, fruit, yogurt, any under a euro or regular tea or coffee! Literally loads to choose.

I usually get a chicken fillets roll with all the trimmings, hunky dorys, bar of choc and a coffee, all for a fiver, happy days!

Does anyone know if there is anywhere to get a decent sandwich/salad sit down in the Ballymount, Dublin 12 area. Spar is there but sandwiches are ok, anywhere else, with good coffee too...?

Most Tescos do pasta pots for €1.50! They are flilling and the chargrilled chicken dish is deli squiscious!
