The internet cafe I sometimes use wipes all downloaded files after a person has finished using the computer.

If I wanted to leave something downloading using utorrent and come back later to retrieve it how would I do this?

Pay for the few hours it takes so the computer doesn't get restarted.

and leave it open on a porn site and leave a box of Kleenex beside the pc so no one goes near it

    Could be a Linux distro...

Buy a linux magazine with the distro free, thereby also supporting the extended community and gaining some learning material... probably costs the same as a few lengthy visits to a net cafe ;)

Unless of course... it's not that :)

You normally wouldn't be able to leave the program running. They auto close all programs at net cafes i've been at.

If you could lock a PC without it closing your applications, utorrent portable would do if you could get it somewhere that wasn't wiped.

You could save the downloaded content to say a USB stick, and bring it back another day. If you find a netcafe that allows utorrent I would be surprised.

Assuming the Cafe allows torrenting you could use a portable torrenting program On a U3 USB device, such as this: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/utorrent_portable

But you would not want to leave the USB device unattended. Its likely to get stolen and/or have its contents erased or simply stop running between Sessions. You want to torrent something over the course of several visits to the place; it's unlikely you'll find a solution that steals time and bandwidth, refer to Post#2.
