breast reduction and how to hide or reveal

Recently, late last year had a breast reduction operation, big decision and necessary, not vanity etc.
It's been mostly a success with results(compared to before) but I know it will take several months and maybe even years before they appear as near 'normal' breasts.

Does anyone have any advice of what creams to use or any tips to speed the whole healing process? For now I have hard red scars, fading very gradually but still totally visible - they're turned from bright red to purpleish... I'm strongly thinking of booking into a serious sunbed session so that maybe it could all start to peel/shed/renew.
I had this operation because of lack of confidence with my body but now it seems I will have to keep waiting for the scars to look less awful!

I've been putting off dating etc for so long, over a decade really, until I went through with this, now that it's happened I look freaky with clothes off, but okay with clothes on... how would you handle this if it was you? Thank you so much for any advice.

Bio Oil is great for this type of thing.

 do not expose still-healing skin to a sunbed

Well, its still very early days in your healing, so your skin needs time to calm down from the trauma of an operation. Dont go near a sunbed - they are dangerous, and most deff should not be used when your skin is recovering.

Use Bio Oil - I've heard good things about it. And if you do date, and get to the stage where you are intimate, there are plenty of things you can do to minimise your discomfort at someone seeing your boobs - candle light and keeping your bra on (SATC girls seem to do it loads) there are no rules that you need to ping it across the room. I've left it on plenty. If he goes near the clasp, distract him ;)

Chances are you may have told him prior to you getting intimate, and if you do, he will be probably be very careful and considerate about hurting your new boobs.

Op, please do not do sunbeds. The healing skin should be protected.

Someone I know had keyhold surgery and the surgeon recommended something called 'cica care' -it is a self adhesive gel sheet, it can be cut to size according to the size/shape of the scar.

It seems to be used in medical settings. Anyway, my family member used this and it really helped speed healing along.

    Hope that helps.

Hi Hazey Jane, I had this operation done a year and a half ago. Dont worry about the scarring at this early stage......it does fade and your breasts will look normal and pretty and perky :)
Bio Oil is good but I used Vitamin E oil and found that amaaazing. Lather your hands in it and gently massage the whole area. This helps the built up scarred tissue to disperse.
As for showing to guys......I was sooo worried about this too. But I neednt have worried. I told the guy before cos didnt want him "manhandling" my still quite sensitive girlies lol and he was fine with everything. And yes its no probs if you want to leave on your bra...........you can buy any gorgeous one you want now, dont forget :D

Im a year and a half down the road from my op, and you cant even see any scars, so please dont worry, just take care of your new girlies.......and stay away from sunbeds, they would actually make you scarred for life at this early stage.
