    Hi,
I have Lightroom 3 and CS5 but haven't played with them yet, still using Picasa 3 (good for basics- cropping, editing colours basically and organising photos).

I'm ready to make the leap and learn Lightroom 3 and/or CS5.
I'm happy to play around with them but am looking for a guide/book/online tutorials.
Can anyone recommend one that'll go through the features etc. I don't mind if it's a physical book or online course/tutorials/site. Something that's easy to follow would be ideal.

A few people have said that Lightroom 3 is good for basic editing and that CS5 is a hell of a lot more complex. So I'm not sure should I start with Lightroom 3 and leave CS5 or 'learn' both'. Any thoughts?

    Cheers,
    Pa.

TBH Lightroom is just like Picassa, to a certain extent it's just a lot of sliders.
It's very powerful software but shouldn't be difficult to pick up.

Photoshop is a much more complex beast. I learned a lot through the PhotoshopTV video podcasts. There is also the Lynda training resources.

My advice is to learn to do the basics (and a little more) in Lightroom then learn to do the stuff you can't do in LR in CS5, IMHO you'll get more return for you efforts that way.

Loads of useful tips on youtube to learn both, for LR you could also have a trawl back through lightroomkillertips (just don't download all the presets:D)
