A friend of mine is working on a film project and wants to know if there is one of these in Ireland at the moment? Or, if there is anything similar that could double as one.

Open thumb below for bigger pic.

    Thanks

There's a Beech Baron in Sligo at the moment. But probably too dissimilar as it's pressurised.

I think it will be used for external shots only, with the propellars rotating, but interiors might be filmed too if budget allows for it.

    Thanks

May I ask what how it will be used? Was there a crash. Am I right in thinking Buddy Holly? Although that was a Bonanza the single engined predecessor of the Travel Air?

I was an extra in 'Disasters' which dealt with the crash of famous 'Beaujolais' crash of 1984. It was interesting in that we had to re-enact the last moments of the flight and it was particulary claustrophobic and rammed home how terrible the last moments must have been.

I'm available as an experienced 'supporting artiste' and pilot for any re-enactment!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 11 years as an extra and bit part acting. Cheap too!

Hi Xflier, indeed it IS actually for a pop video, but not Buddy Holly. Yes, there was a crash and the plane shots will open the video, as a sort of monologue before the actual song starts. They are going over youtube clips for sounds etc and possible footage. But a full scale plane is necessary for a shot when the people approach it.
