    Try kicking the tyres........

Seriously though there's some good information on the websites below

    http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/ford/focus-ii-2004?section=bad

If I was buying I'd only go to a well established dealer /member of SIMI , only buy a car with a full service history.

Wouldn't buy a car with only 2 months NCT left on it.
Would also want at least a 3 or 6 month warranty from the dealer.

Get the garage to put the car through the NCT before buying it as it can be done upto 3 months before it's due date. Either that or get them to include in the warranty to sort any issues out if it fails.

BTW buying from a SIMI registered dealer carries no weight with me, the SIMI are just a lobby group of the motor trade and when it boils down to an issue between a customer and one of their members they very rarely rule in favour of the customer.

    Not being rude :)
But if you are asking that question you should get the car checked out by someone reputable who knows their beans, be it the AA (very expensive), a mechanic or a friend.
