In a dilemma with a car I purchased a few mths ago,Paid 2000 for car and cost me best part of 400 for brakes. Now a few weeks later found out gearbox needed replacing, cost to fix 800 including new clutch.Car is a 2001 Suzuki Ignis 5dr 1.3.Found out last week gearbox was replaced before. Now I don't know whether to get rid of it and get another one ,problem is what will I get for it?I haven't got a lot of cash so looking to buy one for 2000 I like this car as I have a bad back and the height is good for me and its easy to drive:D What would be my best options?
    Any advice appreciated
    Thank You;)

You could keep it until it drops out from under you or Get rid of it now before it strands you somewhere.. I'd get rid of now while it's still running.

There are no guarantees that buying another car for €2k will not have have any problems around the corner either.

Shop around as see if you can get a reconditioned gearbox which will probably work out cheaper.

Drive it on, after spending and repairing you could get years out

    of it now.

+1 on the reconditioned box. Much better than getting one from the scrap yard as was probably the case before.
