    HI, Again

    i was just wondering does anyone know how many luftwaffe planes were destroyed at the end of the war and how many luftwaffe pilots died aswell.

    please help! thanks.

    No idea but if you are interested in this stuff there is a Luftwaffa Graveyard in Glen Cri in Wicklow.

    It is where all the servicemen that where washed up during the war are buried very interesting and wonderful place.

    You should look at AxisHistory.com. As for Luftwaffe fighter pilot losses, one site gives it as 1400 survivors out of 28,000 qualified individuals, ie, those who passed the fighter pilots training school and actually conducted an operational flight in a fighter. As the German training system collapsed, many half-qualified aircrew were simply dumped into the front-line as soldiers.
