Can someone tell me why its compulsory to wear swim hats into alot of pools i.e. Aura yet when say you go abroad its not compulsory to wear one I'm guessing one of the reasons is pool maintenance?

I imagine it's more to do with hygiene than maintenance.

People lose hair. People will lose hair in pools. If the wearing of a cap keeps people's hair loss in the cap and out of the pool then I'm all in favour of that rule.

A combination of both probably. But i think its more the maintenance end myself. It stops hairs from ending up in the water and also from quickly clogging the filters.

I dont think you should ask a question if you have that sort of response to the answers to be honest.

Well people shouldn't respond who completely miss the point of my question hence who doesn't answer it correctly.

Here is the question to which you also gave an answer yourself.

And the first answer which was similar to my own

    And you write this:confused:

Where did he ever suggest you said you were not in favour of it?

Shocking reply to say the least. Is that how you normally answer people who dont answer correctly according to your own answering criteria?

Anyway i think most irish pools have hats as compulsory. Foreign ones dont seem to. Hair in the pool definitely adds to the maintenance anyway. And there probably is a hygiene factor. The rules foreign pools have is up to them anyway. As is the rules of each swimming pool here.

'Liamo' came across as my thread opposed the idea of swim hats yet you come along and persist in saying you give me the same answer as myself when all I trying to do was ask a very simple question compulsory/not compulsory, not determine why one would wear a swim hat into a pool:rolleyes:.

Thank you that goes a long way to my understanding.

It doesn't seem to make a difference with Aura (the one I go to) as the pool definately doesn't be at the desired temperature

I know, but to attack someone for answering is not great, whether the answer is right or wrong. Or if they are not answering the question asked.

He just said he was all for it, that does not mean he thinks your opposed to it. And even if he did mean that, whats wrong with that?

The reason its compulsory in some pools is because them said pools do not want lost hairs in their pool, and also for hygiene reasons they will say. And other pools that dont have it compulsory to wear a hat are not bothered by hairs in thier pool, and/or dont believe its a hygiene problem.

Foreign outdoor pools probably dont need to circulate their water as much if its heated by the sun either. Less circulating and so less filter clogging.
But at the end of the day its up to individual pool operators or owners.

Wow! Had I guessed that a simple answer in response to someone's question would generate such hostility I'm not sure that I would have bothered.

You asked a question and I gave you my opinion. No more, no less.

I simply took the time to offer my opinion to someone who asked a question. I don't believe that warrants abuse.

Might I venture that if the point of a question is missed perhaps the fault lies with the one who asked the question for not making the point clear enough?

I don't understand how you reached the conclusion that I believed that your thread opposed the idea of swim hats. I didn't make any such assumptions nor did I make any reference to any thoughts or position that you might have on the subject.

You see, that's not the question you asked!

Next time you might put a little more thought into your posts when you're writing a question and little more time reading answers to it. Had you worded your question correctly you might have got an answer to the question you wanted to ask rather than the one you did ask. Additionally, if you weren't so quick to fire off abuse at people and had taken the time to re-read your own question and my answer, you might have realised that some people like to help others by offering asked for opinions instead of assuming that people are trying to be smart.

'Liamo' I may have bumped into you before around here which maybe led me more to say you were being smart.

Ok fair enough my original question didn't come across to everyone as to what I would have liked but they really is no need to go into detail about it as I don't log on here to point score on misinterpretation.

And who are you where you spring from with a cheap line like that? Not even gonna waste my breath on ya to be blunt.

No, you haven't bumped into me before.

The implication in your statement is that I have been less than polite to you in the past. You are either mistaken or deluded and I don't know which of the two is more likely. Either way, you're simply trying to make excuses for your disgraceful behaviour.

Why can't you simply let this go? You were rude, and I responded. That should have been the end of it. But you had to come back and pick at it like some scab that you just can't leave alone.

Would some kind mod please lock this thread? The thread is going (further) downhill ad isn't likely to serve any further purpose other than to give a troll a platform.

folks I'm closing this thread as I've already asked people to play nice and it's not happening. Infractions for Francie and Buchanan for insulting other members.
