I'm not sure if there is a more appropriate forum for this

but how come everything like power washers, mowers, etc. costs so much more over here than elsewhere.

in the States you can get a decent petrol power washer for less than $300. Here you'd be hard pushed to find one under 400 euros. Even in England it is a lot cheaper. Why is that? is there an extra import tariff on petrol powered equipment?

It's probably just that there's little or no demand for it here.

How come any consumer product costs more in Ireland than in the UK or the USA?

Maybe because Ireland is a small bankrupt economy and not really worth the time of international distributors. :(

Ireland is a high tax, but low quality services country!:( AKA Corrupt State!

Go up to the North, if you want a petrol power washer!:)

I buy most things up there! Especially car parts! Tyres for one are 30pc cheaper!

Just unpopular - shops stock this stuff, but who regularly buys it? Anyone I know with a hedge trimmers or strimmer has an electric one.

I can't think of anyone I know who doesn't have at least some petrol powered stuff

During the Tiger years anyone with more than three blades of grass to cut had to buy a roide on. You'd think they'd be dirt cheap by now
