Is it all it's cracked up to be?

I used it once and tbh didn't notice anything different about my skin/make-up.

What is it meant to do anyway?

It seems to smooth out the skin, giving a better 'canvas' for make-up.
Don't forget once you think you're at the end of the tube, cut it open, to find several more applications at the bottom of the tube that will never be squeezed out!!

I've never noticed a difference to be honest but what I do use now is a make up primer and that does have an impact, in my case anyway.

If it's any use OP, I use the Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation Primer and find it brilliant.

My make-up looks better and I also don't have a shine off my face when I used it. It also help my make-up to stay on. I haven't used it for a few weeks (no where near me has it in stock!) and I've noticed the difference in my make-up.

The Gosh one is about €20, but a little goes a long way and it lasts ages.

I've heard the Smashbox Photo Finish primer is meant to be similar to the Gosh one, but I've never used the Smashbox primer so I'm not sure how good it is. I think it's about €30-€40 though.

Here is a link to it on Arnott's website where it's priced at €38.

I used it years ago and didn't notice much difference. In my early thirties now and I use it instead of my normal primer for nights out etc. I think it does brighten up my skin more than just primer, and it feels like the makeup sets better on it. Sticking to normal primer for everyday thought, it's cheaper!

I didn't really think it did much to be honest. As some of the previous posters said primer seems to be better. I've used Benefit and L'oreal primer before, but at the moment I'm using one from Penneys, and it's every bit as good as the more expensive ones.

Does anyone know of a primer with mainly natural ingredients in it?

I love it! My skin is quite dull, and it really gives it a nice glow. I used to wear makeup every single day without fail, like I'd NEVER be seen without it, but I mostly just wear beauty flash balm with mascara now. It's handy when you're on holidays too, if you want to wear foundation but it's too hot. And it's really nice as a primer.
