Y' don't seem to see as many of them anymore.
Is it now a crime to be average/mediocre?

Well, lacking looks doesn't denote mediocrity. And remember, looks fade!* Though if you're good-looking, people will think you're better at things than you are, so you can afford to be mediocre in other areas.

I don't think so. It has to do with how society and the media conditions us to think. It is neither Maddie's photogenic appearance ,nor the fact that her parents are eminent professionals, that has her in the news for the last year and a half. It is the media convincing us that her life is more important than a ginge knacker kid from Ronanstown, that I was commenting on.
