Returning faulty goods

I bought a skirt and had worn it about 5 times, and a thread came loose and half the hemming is now gone. It cost me about 60e, it's from warehouse, do you think I'd still be return it and get a replacement, or would a hemming not be a good enough reason to return it?

Also where do you get that hem tape, if returning it doesn't work?

Definately return it! Even if you don't get any satisfaction, it is worth a try.

Try hickeys for the hem tape.

After 5 wears I'd rehem it myself - assuming you washed/cleaned it. Don't like the hem tape on skirts (tends to pull on fabric), would sew it. It's actually super easy to redo a hem as long as you are careful with stitch size. Can't recall having to do it with Warehouse tho, but have with Zara (again besides trousers, as I tend to rip the hem on my heels)

But try taking it back, what's the worst that can happen? If nothing else try get a €10 voucher out of them!

I hate making complaints in shops so I was just making sure I wouldn't get laughed out of it if I went in!
Think I'll go for the hem tape as my other option because I need to wear the skirt this week, but will stitch it next weekend if I can.
You know anywhere other then hickeys? Going after work so might not make it in time!

Any place selling thread should be able to help you. Maybe even craft shops.

From dealing with this kind of complaint, my manager has often offered to pay the cost of a dress maker to fix the hem, providing the customer brought in a receipt. Could be worth a shot.

I'd take it back. Things have to be 'fit for purpose' and it is reasonable to assume this means more than 5 times wear. Its not like it cost 6e from Pennys or something.

I took a skirt back to Next when the stitching went for no good reason & they exchanged it with no questions asked.
