    Hi,

Apologies for starting yet another wanted thread but hopefully I will get some replys - todays weather got me back on the hunt for a bike:cool:

    I'm looking for a 54cm road bike, with a budget of ~500euros.
Based in Dublin but happy to travel a bit for the right bike.

    Thanks

I have a Giant OCR Compact road bike with 105 Groupset. It's 54cm with a light aluminium frame and aero fork. It's a perfect bike for a fast commute and clocking up training miles.

The frame is a replica of the ONCE team racing bikes from 2005.

Components: Full Shimano 105 Groupset (Triple)
Wheels: Mavic Open Pro Rims/Ultegra Hubs (Bulletproof commuting wheels)
Tyres: Continental Gator Skins (Puncture resistant)
    ITM seatpost
    Deda Anatomic Handlebars

There are two sets of brake levers, one on the shifters as normal and one on the handlebars, like in this picture but two levers for front and back. This gives you the drop bars of a road bike and the quick access to brakes (while riding in a traffic friendly position) of a hybrid and has saved my ass countless times in city centre traffic!

If you don't like this setup I can remove them for you for the price of new bar tape and cables (about €20)

    http://www.madsnail.net/images/bikeb...osslevers1.JPG

It has been fully serviced (including hubs and headset) and has a new rear tiagra brake, new front brake pads, front derailleur and almost new cassette, chain and chainring. It has been kept indoors and cleaned/degreased/oiled weekly. The bike has been ridden for less than 500km since the drivetrain was replaced.

The rear wheel is very slightly out of true but perfectly useable (this can be fixed for about €15 at any bike shop) or I can fit a perfectly true set of Shimano R500 wheels instead.

The pedals are two sided (flat and SPD) so once you make the transition to proper cycling shoes you won't need to buy pedals.

I've spent nearly 200 on replacement parts so I'm looking for a reasonable €500. Selling due to upgrade and it's the wrong size for me.

I know the basics of bike fitting and can sit you up on the turbo trainer to get the saddle height and forward/back position setup and advise on a stem change if neccessary to get the fit perfect. I won't let you buy it if it's too big or small.

The bike weighs about 9.5kg and is a much better deal than an almost new but poorly speced sora/tiagra equipped bike that typically sells around this price.

Pics to follow soon. I'm based in North Dublin City if you want to test ride it.

    Chakattack, thanks for the reply.

It sounds like a great bike - just what I'm after. I'd be interested in meeting you for a look at it some evening this week, if that suited. I'm based in the city centre.

    Cool,

I'll send you a PM to organise a test drive.
