    Hi,
At the moment I’m just putting out the feelers but I was wondering if anybody out there would be interested in playing some fun sociable and not too serious rugby? Skill level and ability are not as important as having a laugh and enjoying the game, nor is a 100% die hard commitment to the team! I’ve recently moved to Dublin from the UK where I played with a side called Luctonian fox hounds, We were affiliated to a local club but didn’t play in any league or competitions, what used to happen was the club officials would organise friendly games against local opposition, we’d turn up play a game on whatever day of the week was convenient (usually get beaten) then hit the bar for a few social beers, it was great for lads that were new to the sport and wanted to learn in a friendly relaxed atmosphere, for those in there last season (age comes to us all) who wanted to taper down a bit, or If like me you work odd shifts and availability to play and train was not great that was no problem either, we would often play in 7’s tournaments, (for which I have my eye on a couple in May if anybody is interested) and once a year would go on tour play a few games, have a few beers, and come back with a few stories! if anyone out there is interested in playing or helping organise (or both!) please drop me a message. I think initially if we can get a sevens side together just to start playing then hopefully we can build it up from there. It would be a great way to make the transition from Tag (which seems to be huge in Dublin!) to contact rugby Ideally if we could get affiliated to a club that would be even better, it works well for them as teams like this are great feeders of new talent to established sides. Alternatively if anyone knows of a team like this that already exists please drop me there details as I really would like to start playing again! Cheers

Guys, no longer Just putting the feelers out were putting a sevens side together with an aim of playing at the carrickfergus sevens tournament in may, We still need players all are welcome first timers or seasoned vets, if you've been watching the six nations and getting the itch to play again but don't want to over commit then this could be for you, forwards or backs (don't think we will be the typical sevens side!) winning is not as important as enjoying the game (although don't get me wrong we will be trying!) drop me a line on here or post a message if anyone fancies it

If your south Dublin based or willing to travel. We (Tallaght) now have a 3rd side . It's a developement side for young lads and guys with little or no experience or lookign to get back in to the game and wont be in a league (for the moment anyway) . So if your looking for a side to train with (the rest of your 7's team are welcome too :-) ) and play occasional matches, feel free to come up.

Thanks for the post, my main problem is I work shifts (4 on 4 off) so can't always make matches or training (and can very rarely make both in the same week) most teams have no train no game policies which means I would never get any game time if you think Tallaght might be suitable that would be handy as I'm not too far away, what days do they train and how often do the 3rds get matches? Is there someond i should contact? Cheers,
    Martin

The 3rd team is only just starting tbh. First match is down for next Friday evening I think. It's very much based around lads thats cant always make training or can only get up odd times like yourself as well as lads that are not currently getting game time with our B team (we actually have quite a big squad but unfortunately that means theres a few lads that are fairly new to the game that are not getting games.

Training is Tues and Thurs at 7

Guys to contact are Ken or Brian T on the link http://www.tallaghtrugby.com/contactdetails.html

Thanks for your post, to be honest with work I just dont have the time to play for a conventional side, its a shame because i really want to play but typically life gets in the way, If I get enough interest perhaps we could hook up a friendly with them some time:D
    Cheers
