If the amber lights started flashing when you crossed when you were crossing you are OK. AFAIK its not a penalty point offence anyway.

they had started before i crossed but not before i had enough time to stop safely! it is a penalty point offence according to the rsa website... would there be cameras there?

There is cameras allright. They are only linked to the nearest big station or junction. I would not worry about it.

Unless the colour of the lights at the time you crossed is also recorded by the camera There is absolutely no way to prove it, you could argue that you crossed at the correct time and the camera must be out of sync.
