Im looking for an app that allows you control a pp presentation from my iphone 4. Was on the app store but they all say they require an active wifi connection which both devices are connected to. The problem i face is there is no wifi where i would be using it most. Does anyone know of any app that will work through the bluetooth of the phone and mac book pro?

I know exactly what you're looking for, there used to be a Nokia app to do that via Bluetooth, it worked on the Nokia 6233 and when you eventually figured out how to get it up and running it worked a treat, you could control multiple open PPT files on the laptop and switch from one to the other seamlessly. You could even scan down the list of slides in each PPT and jump to any slide, it was very slick.

Problem is that nowadays most people who have to give pressies usually use one of the handheld wireless presenter aids, Kensington seems to be the most popular, they're about 20-25 sterling on Amazon UK. The wireless presenter has the advantage that it doesn't use any device drivers or s/w (it appears to be an external USB keyboard) so in an emergency you can switch to another laptop without worrying about setup plus the red laser dot is very useful.

I create a network using my Mac (right click on the wireless icon > create network), connect my iphone to that network and then use iClickr to control my powerpoints. This works very well and has a large enough range for even the walkiest of presenters!

iClickr is handy as well as you can configure it to show the current slide or the next slide on your iphone's screen.

It doesn't work over bluetooth but you can create a wifi network (without internet access) using your mac. Connect the phone to this and you're sorted.

Sorry, come again, what are you talking about? What the OP is looking for is a solution that involves the iPhone and a Bluetooth connection. He specifically said that that there is no possibility of a Wi-Fi connection.

No possibility of a wifi connection? He said in his original post that he has a macbook pro and a iPhone 4. I'm just informing him that there very much is a possibility of wifi irrespective of whether there is a wifi router in the vacinity or not.

Apologies, I understand what you're proposing, looks like it should do the biz.
