I sold a 93 Jeep last august with no tax book. When i bought it, i never got a tax book because it was only used for farmwork. The clutch was gone so it was sold as seen. I gave the fella who bought it a form to get a new one and wished him luck. He's back now and says he cant get a tax book. he paid €320 for it and says he spent 200 on it.
At this stage, is this anything to do with me??

Officially in the register you are still the owner of the car.
You definitely should do something with this.

There is a procedure for getting tax book in cases such as this. I think it involves a garage inspection to confirm that it is the vehicle as described and then a garda stamp.

Maybe its in such rough condition that nobody would check it for him or else it didnt check out properly.

you or the new owner may be able to get it sorted by contacting a solicitor and getting a sworn affradavit stating that you are the legal owner.

Just tell him go jog on ?

He bought a jeep knowing there was no tax book with it and was happy to take it, he then spends €200 on it without first securing a tax book.

    His problem not yours.

The new owner needs to get a sworn affidavit to transfer ownership.

    From here.
If either the seller or buyer fail to carry out their required duty in relation to transferring ownership of a vehicle, there is recourse for the other party to complete the transaction by completing a Sworn Affidavit and forwarding it to the Department of Transport. They should complete the Sworn Affidavit relevant to them, i.e. either for acquiring or disposing of the vehicle.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
