Hi I started a CE Scheme on w/co 20/12/2010 I have been on OPFP for 18 months before. I wrote to social welfare on 10/12/2010 and informed them that my circumstances had changed i.e. I got CE scheme. My OPFP has not reduced it is €217 still. Am I right that it should be down to €99 and what should I do?

It is €237 per week. So I think my OPFP should be €99 from what I have worked out. I rang the main office for OPFP but they said I have to contact my local office but I can not make contact with them. Am I getting too much and if so what can I do to sort it out. I forgot to mention I sent a second letter about 2 weeks ago.

the first €146.50 of your earnings are disregarded and half of the balance is assessed as your "means" from employment.

If you have notified the Department of the change of your circumstances, I wouldn't be worried (you have complied with your obligation to notify a change). It's up to the Department to act.

You should keep a copy of your letter(s) in case of any future queries.

I reckon you should still be entitled to €148 pw plus €29.80 for each dependent child but this is based on you having no other means such as savings or maintenance etc.

Thanks for the reply I have been worrying about this I would hate them to think I was comitting fraud. The CE Scheme I am on is perfect never had a job I loved as much as this one and would not like to do anything to mess it up.
