Wouldn't it be in competition with the free Herald AM?

    Herald AM?

    Not in the same sentence/arena/mindset!

I'd say the Mail will have to do a bit of rethinking- it has to hit them more than others. Plus i (pun intended) wonder who's doing the wholesaling/distribution?

I think this will prove to be a hit. Theres a lot of people in both the UK and ROI who want to read something fairly briefly, but who are probably sick of reading the regurgitated articles in the Metro/Herald.

Wonder what price it will be in Ireland.

Bought a copy today (sadly left it over my sisters house) its just 30 cents and is the Indy writ small. Ideal browse for the LUAS/DART brigade who prefer to aim higher than Herlad AM.

I think the Beano does that.

I completely forgot about it this morning. I'd liked to have seen it. 30c is fairly decent.
Considering that 21% of that is VAT, 20% is retail markup and there is wholesaling and shipping costs - there's very little left for the 358th richest person in the world. or did I just answer that....

Does not seem to be on sale in Galway

I had terrible difficulty getting it yesterday. Eventually got in in a filling station - but the drama it brought as it wasn't in their barcode system!

Its not a bad read at all.

Anyone in Waterford can get it in Ardkeen Stores, and no doubt its in the Book Centre and News World at Superquinn.

I'll continue to buy The Guardian which at €1 is excellent value in my opinion.

Their sports and foreign coverage is top class and they have some excellent columnists

Finally got my hands on a copy. Great value at 30c, 56 pages with two staples. No Irish news but a good read nevertheless. Will be buying it again if I can find it.

Thanks for that but they told me it is Newspread who distribute it and I would have to get my local newsagent to contact them!

Distribution seems to be hit and miss, but you cannot argue with what you get for the price. If you buy it to read with your morning coffee I guarantee you will not leave it after you when you are finished, as there is a lot of reading in it.

I asked my local Supervalu about it and they have added it to their paper list.

I'm a fan, it's ideal, with its lack of loooong articles, for reading in the pub combined with chatting to mates! :)

Still have'nt received it in my local shop.Distribution of this new title is very poor, not in any of the shops in Sligo that I have been in including Easons.

Local shops in Sligo still have not received stocks of this paper but they told me that Newspread are billing them for it.Can anyone here tell me if it is available in your area?

I'm in Dublin and haven't seen it yet. I still think The Guardian at €1 is the best value newspaper in the shops,

and its gone! From Aug 2nd

Hardly a shock given its spotty distribution.

Its also gone from Norn Iron along with the Independent.

That's a shame. It was brilliant value at 30 cents, made most other papers look hugely overpriced. I always found plenty of good articles in the i.

Yup, it seemed like bad value NOT to pick one up!

As with The Independent before it, I'll miss it. I'm down to The Guardian/Observer then...

It was a great little paper, though distribution was patchy. At 30c it should have sold a lot of copies. The Independent was selling under 1000 copies here a day before they stopped selling it here.
