Hey, I wondered if anyone could tell me if it is a difficult process if recieving rent allowance and want to move? Basically, we are getting rent allowance in the apartment we are in at the moment but now have a baby on the way and need a bigger place plus its freezing in winter time (not good for newborn!). So basically, if we try move to more suitable place, is it easy to change rent allowance for new address? Will we be stopped while moving? I know the new landlord would need to fill out form but just wondered if it was an easy transfer as we cant afford to pay it all ourselves if we were stopped for awhile. Thanks in advance ;)

    Hi,

Basically if you are moving accommodation you will have to make a brand new application for rent supplement to your CWO. You will need new SWA3 (rent application, yellow form), lease for new accomodation as well as other documents from new landlord.

Your rent should not be stopped untill you move into your new place. It is probably best to apply for new rent/look for new place from where you are living now.
