Contacted the recommended shuttle company on the airports website www.taass.net through their online query system and had the following correspondance. Seems a good rate and probably safer than public transport
James the rate for the shuttle to Downtown hotels is $16.50 one way and
$29 roundtrip per person. You go to our booth at the airport and
purchase your tickets the shuttle run every 15-20 min out of the
airport. You do not need a reservation on arrival just call a day in
advance when you are ready to go back to airport. The fare for both
hotels are the same and you can still purchase the roundtrip ticket and
use at for both locations downtown. Our booth is open until 10pm and the
curb is open until 12 midnight.

Not bad, but I'm traveling with Steveharley, so I guess we shall be splitting a taxi.

I've heard good things about the Marta system so I'll take the bus for $2.50

MARTA is meant to be good alright. I'll be using it for getting around the city during the week no doubt.

Well least my mother has been to Atlanta before, ans she says the airport is huge, but she plans on telling me how she got around.

First airport I was in when I went to America. Its busy like you can't imagine. Crammed.

Atlanta has the worlds busiest airport, i love looking out the windows. Planes landing like every 2 seconds. crazy stuff

It's like a cattle market. I'm just glad it's my final destination, I'd hate if I was just passing through. This way I can just leave straight away.

As long as i'm not in a 1 hour line to get on the train to the car rental center ill be grand, last year i was in Atlanta i thought i would never get out of the airport. They would want to hurry up and finish building the new international terminal

My flight gets in late afternoon, so I'd say a taxi is our easiest option, then go straight to the hotel, then maybe some local Hooters. Probably get a taxi on my way back to the airport too.

Hooters for me on friday before Axcess.

according to the mariott marquis's website taxi's are $25 each way, this is $29 so saves money which is my reason for thinking this over taxi

Yeah, its a good offer alright, I'd probably consider it if I was traveling by myself.
