Hi all, I have an 1986 Mercedes 190 2.3, aka Mercedes Cosworth that I bought in 2009. It's on UK plates and I've had it more or less parked up since then while doing a few jobs to it. A friend of mine told me yesterday that there are some changes to the rules of paying the duty coming in this May, something to do with proof of purchase & the NCT centre having to look at it?

My plan was to keep it stored till it hits the big 30 years old, taking it for the odd spin here & there, maybe under classic insurance & get away with paying the lower fees etc then.

The car has been in the country for about 5 years & I'm the third Irish owner, if that makes any difference.

    What do ye think?
