most sites are usually 12-13+ bar a few that are 14 but I have seen many players about 13 or younger play so he should be fine, just check with the site before he goes

Well to own a gun you must be 16, sites have different age limits but you should get him in with a consent form signed by his parents.

You don't have to be 16 to own a gun just 16 to buy or sell ;)

Well my Da owned lots of guns untill I turned sixteen when he suddenly gave them all to me... It's not too off topic to ask why lots of people on this demand that buyers are 18 +?

That's just personal preference for the 18+ thing, but I'm almost 100% you can own your own at 16 just not allowed buy or sell

If you actully look, most sellers want to sell to over 18's or with the concent of a parent. For obvious reasons.

13 would be fine. But make sure first he knows what he's getting into. Maybe ask can you walk around the site first, so he gets a feel for it. :)
I see plenty of young players some of which look around 12-13 that give the older lads a run for their money.

You can 'own' an airsoft gun at any age but the fact is they're not toys they're imitation firearms, that's why they aren't sold to under 18's without a parent/guardian's permission.

they can start at any age.

Ive seen kids that couldnt have been more than 9 or 10 playin.
and theyve been great little sports.
take their hits and what not,

all I suggest, and I do it with each of my cousins/nephews and what not that show interest in playin after seein my guns.

I first offer to shoot them to let them see what its like pain wise.
(if they say no, then I tell them to wait a while before goin)
    If they say ok,
I tell them they can or cant come depending of how they react to the pain of being shot.
most times if they dont like being shot, they have no quams in not coming.

after that I drill into them to make sure they take their hits.
