Just wondered if anyone has seen any part-time work advertised for the polling stations and the count centres, I believe that a good earner.
The only problem is that the people doing the work seem to be double jobbing -TEACHERS, COUNTY COUNCIL STAFF.
This has been my observation on it over the years , are these people not paid eneough as it is ? and why dont they advertise the posts, fair dues to them if they volunteer and do it for free , but somehow I dont think these sort would any of their generous free time away.

I tried to register with County Sheriff's office for the above but got no reply to my e-mail. I contacted my local TD and he said "I can tell you from my experience that the vast majority of these polling clerks are of long-standing.". I take it from that quote that what he meant was, it's a closed shop!

It is indeed a closed shop, you get in and you only lose the job when you decide to quit.
