Proposal Ideas

I don't know if this is the right place for this thread, sorry Mods if not.

I plan on proposing to my girlfriend in the next month or so. I have been thinking about it for a while now and seem set on two ideas.

We have a hotel booked around the date of our anniversary. I was thinking while she's off at the spa enjoying herself I could do the room up all romantic. Rose petals, candles arranged, bottle of bubly, etc. Then I meet her straight after her treatments and we go off and go for dinner and that. Afterwards we go back to the room and I pop the question.

The other idea is go to a place we went on one of our first dates. It was kinda up the mountains and we had a picnic. So I was thinking of going back there and having another picnic (may be hard with the weather) and getting down on one knee at some stage.

What do people think of these ideas? All suggestions are of course welcome too. :)

    Thanks

I think both of your ideas are lovely and really personal to you both. Id love the picnic but as you say you cant be sure about the weather, go for the hotel as she will be all relaxed after the spa and it will be very romantic when you come back up after dinner!

    Good luck!!

Congrats!! And double congrats on being so thoughtful!
I love both ideas, but as you said maybe a bit cold for the picnic.
As for the spa this is a fantastic idea, the only thing being that after her spa treatments there is no WAY any girl will go straight out for dinner...sorry!! It is a FAB idea though, is there anyway you could have the stuff ready and leave it hiddin in the wardrobe or somewhere? Then when you go for dinner pretend you left something in the room and go back and put it out then??
    Hope this helps,

I think the picnic is such a lovely idea!! The only thing that would stop you would be rain but even if its just cold bring hot chocolate....so cute!!

Really depends on what your soon to be fiance would prefer...would she be outdoorys or like the hotel better??

Go down for the meal after the spa but when down there say you realised you forgot the digital camera and you wanted to get a photo of the pair of you then run up to the room and do what you have to do. Some hotels would actually do that for you when you are both out. I dont know where you are from or what you have in mind but pm me if you want the name of a hotel that went out of their way to make our occasion exceptional!

Both idea's sound extremely sweet, low key and private....in ireland too.

Dont make up any fake stories...i dont like those idea's...people have suggested various things in the past like broken down car, grumpy mood or pretending such and such. Boyfriends in grumpy mood or making stories up really wind me up and put me in a bad mood...not many people see the funny side of things like that and quite frankly a bit childish to make up stories.

There is no need to pretend anything. The way you describe the hotel evening sounds great and the picnic sounds great too. Either one of those should work. I dont think you need anything fancy.

    Good luck

    Great ideas, OP.
I like the hotel proposal idea best. Why don't you let her go for treatments, do the room up and propose afterwards. You can go to dinner and drinks for celebration later. She'll be all relaxed and lovely then!

Could you organise for the spa to call your room to let you know that your girlfriend is on the way back to the room? You could be down on one knee then when she walks in the door.

Any word on how this went?

I am considering doing the spa/ hotel room idea myself and would like to know if its a good idea before I go ahead with it myself.

    Thanks
