    Hello all,

About one week ago I noticed a screech sound coming from my back left wheel area. Its not a constant screech but I have noticed it getting worse. I know I should have had it looked at the asap but I only took a look today:o

The steel wheel was actually hot, hot enough that I could feel the heat coming from it with my hand & couldnt touch it for more than a second.

Any ideas whats up with it:confused:

I'd say your brakes are binding on that side, or possibly the wheel bearing might be seized.

get it looked at before you are driving down the road with only 3 wheels!!!

Loose wheel maybe might be worth checking your wheel is tight

Thanks Lads, I have checked the nuts and all are on tight. I think there is a good chance that the pads and discs are due a change. Could a worn pad or dics cause this screech sound. Just to clarify, the screech sound happens when im not braking. A mech did advise me to get my front right disc replaced soon.

If the pads are worn down too far, then yes they will screech on the disc and ruin it if left to go on like that.

When replacing disc's, can you just replace 1 or 2 of them if need be or must you replace all 4 at the same time?

its definately the brakes, i find its best to buy the discs and pads online and then get a mechanic to fit them, i got my front ones done for €40 labour
