so i have a week off at the start of march and i'd like to go away somewhere, only trouble is none of my friends can join me for various reasons so this may well be my first solo holiday.

i'm looking for advice on where i should go for the 5 days.

    Some basic info:
    male
    single
    mid 20s
budget 500euro or a bit more maybe
    likes a good party/heavy session
not fond of the heat or lying on the beach for 8 hours a day
not looking for coke and hookers (well not hookers anyway)
not looking for the gallery/museum/memorial/architecture circuit
    maximum flight time 3/4hrs

In the past I have enjoyed the likes of Berlin, Amsterdam, Munich, Barcelona.

I suppose somewhere frequented by other solo travelers where it would be easy enough to find like-minded folk to buzz off/banter with/have the chats with.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as would any tips for a first time solo tourist.

    THANKS.

your so lucky-I'd love to escape for a few days. Have you thought about Sweden for a city break or maybe a ski/snowboard resort where its easy to meet other travellers? Believe it or not Paris would be a great spot to have a solo adventure-there's so much to do even if your not arty :)

The Geneva Motor Show is on the start of March, if your interested in cars. I wouldn't go there for 5 days but you could stop off for 1 night before/after another city.

Why not holiday in Ireland and prop up the economy?

    (Gets coat)

I went to BudaPest on my tod before, very manageable and cheap considering the Hungarian economy is worse than ours.

Morocco, either fly direct or into Malaga and hop on the ferry over.

Take in Tangier, Fez and Essaouira.

Krakow is another hot spot for partying. very cheap and great night scene. Other recommendations would be budapest and Prague.
