    He needs to start managing his finances a bit better;

    if he can't balance his own budget what chance did the country have with this bunch of jokers in charge?

    The guy's a joke. 100k salary, Based on a married man on a single income, he has a take home pay of 62k this year After tax. On the radio he stated 'more than half my income is taken by tax'
    That was a lie

    When we take into account the fact that he can claim expenses for travelling to and from work and for accommodation and subsistence while he is away from home, The 62k will be mostly available for discretionary expenditure. lets be generous and give him a 10k mortgage cost per year (although he probably has no mortgage) that leaves him with a thousand euros a week discretionary expenditure.

    He might not be lying, he might just be an incredibly stupid person, which would born out by saying that in public.

    There is a old joke about giving free pork to a jew (or muslim etc.) because it would cause a dilema - it won't.

    In the real world they give it in exchange for favours to a charity. AND claim back the tax on the donation. All win, and boast about it too.

    NO!! I'll like to use any disposable income I have to give to charities of MY choice.
