Golfsure Personal Insurance

    Hi Guys

Anyone know of any brokers who deal with the Golfsure Personal Insurance?

I rang Willis Broker Services from http://www.chartisinsurance.com/ie-golfsure-personal_1029_223028.html and they told me to contact the insurance broker (McCarthy Insurance Group Cork) who look after my club, but they don't seem too interested in dealing with it. After a few emails and a few calls i still can't get it sorted, with the usual "we're waiting for a price" and "we'll look into it" as responses.

I contacted my club about the insurance, and they said the only insurance they recommend is home insurance, but looking into that, they only cover the clubs if they are kept in the boot of the car at all times  Not exactly the extensive cover i was hoping for.

So in short, can anyone recommend a broker who deals with Golfsure on a person by person basis?

I looked into this before and couldn't find a broker who does it on an individual basis. Not much commission on these policies which is why they are normally done in groups (golf club). They do it in the Uk but for some reason it never caught on over here.

Thanks Tin Cup, perhaps i might try ringing Willis again, to see if they know of companies who do it individually.

Rang Willis, and they mentioned that pretty much no broker does it on an individual basis. She did say you could get a group of 15 minimum from the same club and they would offer the €20 insurance per head. Some clubs do offer this to members at an additional expense, others just let you pop a sheet in the locker room to register interest from fellow members, and they can give the insurance outside of the remit of the club.

My club doesn't offer it, so it may be a case of a notice in the locker room for me :(

Just signed up to this. €20 per year all your golf equipment covered up to 4k. All risk.
My home insurance crowd wanted €53.
Hopefully I won't need it. Anyone been unlucky enough to need to make a claim and how did you get on?

i though it was fairly standard to included it with subs, my club does maybe you should bring it up at the AGM next year it is good value for 20 quid and cover a lot of stuff including the bar bill from a hole in 1.

I couldn't get the individual cover, which sucked. But i was changing my home insurance last year and shopping around i went with FBD. They've covered everything, and the clubs aren't only covered if they are in the car boot with 40 ninjas guarding it, they are covered on the course aswell. They are covered if stolen, lost or accidently broken. I also have public liability incase one of my wayward drives hit someone. I popped my SkyCaddie and Powacaddy on it last week aswell, no extra cost

Wow! Must be a hole in one every other day in your club!

Yeah it seems good value. I think keeping it optional is the best way to go with this. If people don't want it they don't have to pay for it.
I was golfing with a guy who was telling me that as a GUI member all your equipment was insured. I had never heard of this so I rang the GUI and they confirmed that this was not the case.
If some clubs include this insurance product in there sub I can see how the confusion may arise.

Got the flyer from my club last week and it looks like they don't cover the hole in one drinks any more. Instead you get entered into a draw to win a car, not sure why they changed.
