I got offered a position today through the WPP1 scheme (work for 6 months while on the dole and after that hopefully being offered a full time job), while I'm working for that company would I still need to go to the Social Welfare office every month to sign on or is that automatically taken care of?

Also would I have to collect my payments from the post office as usual, get a cheque in the post, paid to bank account or what?

If you are already getting a social welfare payment, you must notify the Department of Social Protection that you are starting a placement, as this changes your status. If you are getting a qualifying social welfare payment for at least 3 months, you may be able to keep your payment while on the Work Placement Programme. You must first receive the approval of the Department of Social Protection. Arrangements have been made to allow participants on the Work Placement Programme to sign on by post if they are claiming Jobseeker's payments.

It doesn't state how payments are made but when you go to the SW office to notify them, am sure convenient arrangement can be set up.

Thanks, I didn't see the part about signing on by post when I was reading up on it on the social welfare site.
