I'm not sure what you mean, do you mean amenities that are in Blackrock or areas near by? Areas near Blackrock are Dun Laoghaire, Booterstown, Stillorgan and Cabinteely.

There are two shopping centres in Blackrock (the Frascati and Blackrock shopping centre) and it's beside the sea and is on the DART line.

if your looking for somwhere to stay op try blackrock itself or stillorgan, booterstown, monkstown deans grange and mount merrion. they are all within easy walking distance of blackrock
for shopping you have the 2 already mentioned in blackrock, stillorgan shopping centre (the oldest in the country), and dun laoghaire

for socialising blackrock itself is good and imo the breffni is the nicest for a good pint and wicked wolf for a night out, there is some good places to eat as well.
the most important thing to remember is if you are dying of a hangover get a brekkie in the news cafe. its the finest in dublin

Dart line and the 4 and 7 buses run past it, giving plenty of transport options. there are a few other infrequent buses also

There is cinema in Dun Laoghaire and Stillorgan, plenty of local sports clubs and gyms, shopping centres in blackrock, DL and Stillorgan. Parks in Blackrock, DL.
Cabinteely is not really near Blackrock byt he way, not in comparison to the rest of the places mentioned.

Wicklow a stones throw away by car for the hills

See Blackrock is so fancy that even the stones get driven around in a car!

On the northside we have to measure 'stone's throw' by how far we can throw the damn things. :(

Its not too far from town, has its own village, and good transport links. Considered a "good" area - without getting into that old debate about whats a good area. Can you be more specific about what you are looking for?

There's a bird sanctuary just up the road in Booterstown!

    Couldn't agree more!

There's also a Starbucks in the village with an amazing view of the sea, there's a Supermac's too. Superquinn and M&S are the supermarkets there, and then there's Blackrock market on the weekends.
